about

This album was recorded live at Jim Petit's barn studio in Mittlach. This live performance was played as a quadriphonic soundnap using the field recordings Jim has done for his project "Une 5e saison" which is a soundwalk in the woods of the small village Mittlach (France, Parc naturel régional des Ballons des Vosges). Playing live, Jim added Minimoog voyager synth, weissenborn, lap-steel, Arturia's Modular V2 & V3, ARP 2600 V3, SEM V2 and two microphones recording the soundscape around the barn as it is while the concert was done.

Here is a stereo mix from the 24th august 2019 live tapes.

"From September 2017 to November 2018, I walked the woods and trails of the small village of Mittlach to record the landscape. In each season, I went on the twenty sites that I chose, I put my microphones and launched the recording ... a fir tree that squeaks in the wind, a child who sings in the woods, the radio in the cabin of a tractor during haymaking, a paraglider who lands at the same time as a car passes , snowflakes that fall gently, a chalk on the blackboard of the school, drops of water beading along the cave to the Virgin of the cliff Kiwi. By transforming and mixing all these sounds together, I'm building a 5th season for a sound experience between the reality of the moment and the imaginary..."
